"I just want to build boats!" As you will see, this has not changed. It was not easy going from being a carpenter to being a boat builder a few years back, everyone was still trying to keep this little hobby a secret only enjoyed by an elite few. I built my first boat thanks to Dynamite Payson ( the king of the backyard renegades ) and I still feel that his books are the ultimate authority on good cheap backyard boat building. However, being more interested in fishing than sailing, I have come up with some more modern variations which I feel are more geared toward small engines as opposed to engine power being an afterthought, as with many of the classic hulls of the first half of the last century. Hulls from Bolger and Gardner and Monk which many of the "major" designers are still drawing and hawking as their own..(Right Anne?)
So Ladies and Gentlemen and SmallBoat enthusiasts of all ages! I proudly present two of my best selling boats!

My "Little Joe" Pram Kit
 As you can see, Little Joe stays very dry. With one small passenger or being towed with minimal equipment, the sides and transoms don't even get wet! I have been told that this boat should sail pretty well, I have a 40 sq foot sail I am going to try as soon as it gets a little warmer up here. |

The kit for "Little Joe" comes with:
| Bow Transom shaped and beveled...ready to go. Quarter Knees pre beveled and marked. Full size bottom and side panels of Marine Occume. Bulkheads and seat tops, pre beveled and marked for installation. Transom with motor board, cut to size and pre beveled. Seat risers and supports all cut to size and pre beveled. Skegs, Gunnels and Oarlock blocks. |
Enough Stainless Steel Screws and Bronze Silicone nails to build the boat. Two part Epoxy, Thickener and 80 feet each or 3" and 2" Fiberglass Tape, enough to put a double layer inside and outside on all stitch and tape seams. I also include many extras that help in the construction such as a roll of 18 guage copper wire, copper wire nails and a roll of masking tape. |

My kits come complete with everything you need to build a boat from start to finish all you add is the time, a few tools and the paint! You get a full set of plans and all of the top quality materials, adhesives, and fastenings you need. All of the parts are pre-cut of Marine Occume plywood (BS 1088 marine rating), pre-beveled, and marked, ready to assemble.
Accessory kits with Hand lashed oars, Bronze oarlocks and Bow hook can be purchased separately, call for details.
Not familiar with stitch and tape construction? No problem! For a limited time I will include a copy of Dynamite Payson's book "Build the new Instant Boats" with every kit sold, This book not only includes plans for 6 small stitch and tape boats, but it is also a complete start to finish manual on stitch and tape boat building from picking out the nails to the final coat of paint. The first section of the book spells out all of the methods and techniques necessary for the beginning boat builder to be successful.
